NEW PISTON LINEHIGH PERFORMANCE 2- and 4-stroke cast and forged pistons For over 10 years now, ATHENA has been developing and manufacturing cylinder kits for 2- and 4-stroke off-road motorcycles. In collaboration with the worlds top motocross racing teams, ATHENA has now designed a new line of racing pistonsHIGH PERFORMANCE. ATHENA offers a wide selection of 2-stroke and 4-stroke racing forged and cast pistons, which are specifically tailored to all off-road motorcycles (MX, Enduro, and ATV). They are manufactured according to the latest technological standards and the highest industrial requirements. The unique Smart Can packaging, consisting of a resealable metal can, can either be used as a storage container or recycled. All ATHENA cast and forged pistons are made of an aluminum alloy with a perfectly balanced composition of nickel, copper, and silicon. By using the finest raw materials in combination with the most advanced design and manufacturing methods, ATHENA high-performance pistons impress with their extremely light weight and high durability. This results in improved engine performance and a longer engine lifespan. 4-Stroke HIGH PERFORMANCEForged piston The 4-stroke HIGH PERFORMANCE forged pistons are developed, designed, and manufactured entirely in-house at ATHENA. To ensure maximum piston performance, ATHENA piston designs were extensively tested in advance both on the test bench and on the racetrack. The goal was also to meet ATHENAs own high standards for durability. Particular importance was placed on the selection of compression rings and oil scraper rings. Taking into account the tangential loads and the tangential profiles, these were selected in such a way that, on the one hand, excellent sealing properties are achieved and the blow-by effect (escape of combustion gases into the crankcase) is prevented, and on the other hand, no loss of sliding properties is incurred. The result is a significant increase in performance combined with longer service life for the piston and cylinder.

| Oil lubrication grooveATHENAs HIGH PERFORMANCE pistons feature an oil lubrication groove between the first and second sealing rings. This groove allows lubricating oil to accumulate, thereby stabilizing the pressure between the piston rings and preventing the blow-by effect. The improved lubrication also enhances efficiency, prevents pressure losses, and ensures consistent engine power output. |
